La Ventana Amazónica is a series of photographs taken between March and June 2024, while I was living in a hostel in Iquitos. Iquitos is the only real city in the heart of the north Peruvian Amazon Forest. There are no direct roads to this place. You have to get there by boat or by plane. The great thing about this hotel room I had was that it had three large windows. Each of them looked out onto a different side of the barrio. The room was on top of a small hill. I was always captivated by the view, as well for the visual and audio. I could hear the sounds of tropical birds and insects mixed with the rumble of mototaxis, sometimes voices and latin music from neighbourhood parties, sometimes the rain heavily falling on iron roofs. Each day was a totally different visual mood. One day, it was dramatic red sunset; other day it was yellowish fog; other days the view was so blended in pastel tones that it seemed surreal.
